Still reading. I don't know why I can't read this in one night like I did the "Twilight" books. Maybe if there were sparkly vampires in it I'd find it more riveting.
Here is my idea behind our on-line book club: When I was in high school reading the stuff that was supposed to be good for you just didn't appeal to me. By the time college rolled around, I was just trying to get into law school as quickly as possible. The result is I am way past due in reading--- and enjoying-- the "classics" and other important works that are supposed to make us kinder, gentler, smarter, and better people. If you are like me and largely avoided this part of your education or got by on Cliff's Notes, then our society-- I hope-- will be of real interest to you. If you've already read most of the "great books", perhaps you will join in anyway; I'm sure you'll have some ineresting insights to share. The Doctrine and Covenants counsels us to seek "wisdom" and "knowledge" out of the "best books"----and besides I think it will be fun to share our thoughts with each other. I have been blessed with very bright, interesting children, siblings, extended family, and friends, and so, for me, this will be a wonderful reason to stay in touch and share ideas with each other. Using the "greatest books of the Western world" lists from Harvard, Yale, and Encyclopedia Britanica, I will select a book that appears on at least one of those lists and which I believe will be of interest to all of us. I thought we could alternate fiction and non-fiction. The initial selection is #1 on Harvard's list. It is short and an easy read. Please, if you'd like, join in. I would love to receive your insights. In June, I'll suggest a work of fiction. If not sooner impeached, I'll be happy to pass the gavel (of book selector) to someone else next year.

Um, I'm still reading too. Even though it's now July... I'm finally getting into it.
