We are back in business!!

By overwhelming popular demand (OK, really only 2 requests: Missy and Kimi), we are resurrecting our book club.
The hope is that with more enjoyable reading perhaps it will work this time. Our new selection is: The Adventures of Hucklebery Finn.
Yes, Huckleberry Finn is on the list of best books of the Western world. But it also should be more fun with wider interest than our other selections.
Years ago I remember hearing someone say, "Everyone should read Huckleberry Finn twice in their life. Once as a youth, to enjoy the story. And once as an adult to learn about life." Whether old or young or somewhere in between, I hope we all enjoy reading-- or re-reading-- this classic tale and that we learn someting interesting to share with each other.
thanks,
Roger
Founder of the previously defunct and now barely breathing Livingston Literary Society.
PS Could someone who is way more technologically capable than me, please put this on the Livingston Family website?
PSS Bryan, if you would like, perhaps we could deviate from the Worlds Greatest Books List and use your suggestion of "Odds Are You Are Going to Be Exalted" as our next selection. You'll have to join, though, and get involved to nominate a book! (Yes, your brother is being manipulative!)

Yay, you're back!! That's a great book, although, I'm working on my Master's now and probably won't get to re-read it for this go-around. Am I Livingston enough to get to visit the Livingston Family website? ;)

I think the website is down.

I am excited to read this book!!

Marie,
Yes, you are an honorary Livingston! By your wonderful personality, by your lack of height, by your goodness, and by your Aunt Marie's marriage-- you are absolutely a Livingston. The fact the message of the Restoration resonated in your heart and also that you chose to serve our Country makes you an A+ Livingston.
Our love and best to you,
Your cousin Roger

Well in honor of finally getting around to reading Pride and Prejudice (the last pick), I decided to make this a Jane Austen year, and I just barely picked up Sense and Sensibility.

So it might take me a while, but I'll get through Huck Finn as well.

Yes, I finished it! I loved it! I think I had a whole new perspective reading this book as a mother of a boy with the same love of adventure as Huck.

Thanks for the pick!

What's the next one going to be? I'd love another Austen, as I am trying to get through all of those. But we have done one of those already this year, perhaps a Dickens? Or maybe we could go with a popular favorite of today like Fablehaven or the like?
